Koren Robinson - Recovering Alcoholic

Koren Robinson is preparing for the scrutiny he will receive as a recovering alcoholic.

On July 6th Robinson voluntarily checked into a rehab facility to seek treatment. This led some people to belive that he had suffered a relapse. "Nothing could be further from the truth" Robinson said.

"I'm not in rehab. I'm still doing good. I'm still not drinking I'm still working out."

Prosecutors decided Friday not to file charges against Southern California quarterback Mark Sanchez, who had been accused of sexually assaulting another USC student.

Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Richard Tacklander, who reviewed the case, concluded there was "a lack of sufficient evidence beyond a reasonable doubt."

"From the outset of this investigation, I've been confident that the facts would come to light and that investigators would confirm that I was innocent of the allegations against me," Sanchez said in a statement issued by the university.

Cooter out on DUI

Tennessee coach Phillip Fulmer suspended reserve quarterback Jim Bob Cooter indefinitely Monday for violating team rules after campus police arrested him for drunken driving.

"Jim Bob has let the team down and embarrassed himself and his family by his actions. He has benefited greatly by being part of the Tennessee family, and with that comes great responsibility for his actions," Fulmer said in a statement.

Cooter, 21, was stopped about 3:25 a.m. Saturday after campus officers noticed him drive a black Ford sport utility vehicle through a stop sign and weave across the centerline several times, according to a campus police report.

Steeler Arrested

Santonio Holmes of the Pittsburgh Steelers was arrested on Friday night for disorderly conduct at a hotel in South Beach.

Holmes signed a promissory note to appear in court where he will be arraigned, said Miami Beach police spokesperson Bobby Hernandez.

The events leading to the arrest weren't released by police.

Homes was the Steelers first round pick in April out of Ohio State.

Barrett Suspended 10 Games

Chicago Cubs catcher Michael Barrett was suspended for 10 games and White Sox outfielder Brian Anderson five games for a bench-clearing brawl that led to four ejections.

Barrett's punch of Pierzynski after a collision at home plate earned him 10 games on the bench.

Barrett, who punched White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski to ignite the melee, and Anderson also were fined an undisclosed amount by Major League Baseball on Friday.

White Sox third base coach Joey Cora was suspended two games and fined, while Pierzynski was fined for the incident during the interleague game on Saturday.

When a hazing ritual on a men’s team involves nudity and sex acts performed on one another… that’s just weird and bizarre. But when it’s a college women’s soccer team… well, that’s a completely different story.

At first, we thought they were pretty much like others we had found: underage drinking, girls in degrading outfits for the occasion, faces written on with marker, etc. Then we turned the page and found the freshman not only blindfolded but with their hands tied behind their backs with athletic tape. On top of that, the girls are seen doing calisthenics and what appears to be forced drinking, performing skits that appear to require simulated sex acts, and then the losing skit team being forced to perform lap dances.

I should say before we go any farther, in all seriousness… forcing freshman girls to give guys lapdances… that’s not cool. In fact, what Dr. Susan Lipkins says here on BadJocks.com about this incident is, while it might not be much fun, absolutely right. I don’t think there’s any gray area there. Forcing anyone to do anything sexual as part of a hazing ritual… well, you can’t do that.

But… they did do it. And so that we can all learn from the experience and work towards bettering ourselves and making sure we can all develop a more positive worldview… well, here are some pictures. Wherever it goes from here… well, that’s up to you. Sinner.

Duke Lacrosse Captain Indicted

A Duke University lacrosse team captain became the third player indicted in the rape scandal Monday and the first to speak out, blasting the charges against him as "fantastic lies."

"I look forward to watching them unravel in the weeks to come," said David Evans, a just-graduated 23-year-old from Bethesda, Md., who was one of four team captains.

At a news conference, Evans was backed by other players and his mother, Rae Evans, who is the chairwoman of the Ladies Professional Golf Association of Directors and founder and president of Evans Capitol Group, a Washington lobbying firm.

The charges followed a March 13 party at an off-campus house, where a 27-year-old black student at nearby North Carolina Central University told police she was raped and beaten by three white men after she and another woman were hired as strippers.

Longhorn charged with Possession

Texas running back Ramonce Taylor was charged Monday with possession of marijuana after what his attorney described as an incident in which the football player was confronted at a party and a window in his vehicle was broken out.

Taylor, who scored a touchdown in the Rose Bowl for the national champion Longhorns, was arraigned on a state jail felony charge of possession of marijuana over 4 ounces and under 5 pounds. He was released from the Bell County jail on $5,000 bail, according to a spokeswoman for the sheriff's department who declined to give her name.

A state jail felony carries up to two years in jail and a $10,000 fine. District Attorney Henry Garza said the marijuana was sent to a lab for analysis, and that the charge could be upgraded later if the amount exceeds 5 pounds.

Taylor's attorney, Buck Harris, said the marijuana did not belong to the football player.

Warrant Issued for Haynesworth

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was charged with reckless endangerment after being accused of trying to run a car off the highway.

The Smith County sheriff said May 12 a warrant for the player's arrest was issued after James J. Bond filed a police report.

Bond told police that Haynesworth on May 7 swerved, sped and attempted to pass a car driven by Bond's mother-in-law on the shoulder of Interstate 40, about 45 miles east of Nashville, Smith County Sheriff Johnny Bane said.

"The affidavants feared for their lives and felt they were in danger, as well as other drivers around them," he said.

No officer was present at the scene, and the warrant was issued after authorities investigated Bond's report, Bane said.

He said police have spoken with Haynesworth's attorney, who told them the player will surrender on the charges soon. He will face $1,000 bail.

Neither the Tennessee Titans nor Haynesworth's agent, Chad Speck, immediately returned calls from The Associated Press.

Just days before the NFL draft, the family of USC running back Reggie Bush is homeless. Actually, no one knows where they are right now after they abruptly left the 3,000-square-foot house place they had been living in the past year in Spring Valley, CA after a reported asked a seemingly innocent question about how they could afford the $800,000 home.

Unfortunately for Bush, Yahoo! Sports starting asking questions about the real owner of the home, Michael Michaels, a man who alleged tried to get Reggie to sign with a certain agent and who also appears to have ties a sports marketing company. Oops. The result of that questioning has USC asking the Pacific-10 Conference for an investigation. If it turns out that Bush got the house from a booster, it's possible that USC would have to forfeit all 12 games they one that he played in during 2005.

Bears CB Manning Arrested

Ricky Manning Jr. joined the Chicago Bears a day after the cornerback was arrested on suspicion of assault following a fight at a restaurant in Los Angeles.

"Unfortunately, I can't talk about any legal business," Manning said during a conference call after the Carolina Panthers declined to match the Bears' offer sheet. "I was advised by my agent that I can't talk about any legal business or what happened Sunday morning. But when things are sorted out, I'll be more than happy to tell my side of the story so you can find out what happened."

Vick Admits to Driving Charges

Trouble knows where Mike's brother lives. Marcus Vick the younger brother of Mike Vick the Atlanta Falcons star quarterback is in the news again. Vick pleaded guilty to charges related to a Dec. 17 traffic stop in which he was driving 38 mph in a 25 mph zone and driving with a suspended license. That charge was reduced to driving with an invalid license.

His never ending string of both team and legal problems will definitly hurt his 2006 NFL draft hopes.

Eller arrested for DUI

Hall of Famer Carl Eller was arrested for driving under the influence early morning of Feb. 26, according to the state patrol.

A trooper stopped the former Minnesota Vikings' star in suburban Golden Valley after clocking Eller going 97 mph in a 55 mph zone on westbound Interstate 394 around 3:30 a.m., said Lt. Chuck Walerius with State Patrol's West Metro office.

The trooper also saw Eller making a lane change and taking an exit ramp without signaling, Walerius said.

Knaus suspended through Atlanta

NASCAR on Tuesday suspended crew chief Chad Knaus for the next three Nextel Cup races for modifying the rear window of Jimmie Johnson's car before qualifying for the Daytona 500.

Knaus, who was ejected from the 500 for the infraction, will miss this week's race at California, the March 12 race at Las Vegas and the March 19 race at Atlanta.

He also was fined $25,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.

Johnson, who won the Daytona 500 with lead engineer Darian Grubb filling in for Knaus, said he and the team were prepared for a four-race suspension based on past history.

NASCAR gave Todd Berrier, the crew chief for Kevin Harvick, a four-race suspension last season for rigging the gas tank during qualifying. Knaus will have missed four races when he returns for the March 26 race at Bristol.

Without saying four races would be unfair, Johnson reminded Knaus already has missed the biggest race of the season.

"From my standpoint, we've been through a lot already for a qualifying infraction,'' he said.

Minnesota Vikings get Trial Date

A judge set trial dates for the four Minnesota Vikings charged with misdemeanors in a boat party scandal.
Quarterback Daunte Culpepper and running back Moe Williams agreed to be tried together starting April 18. Defensive back Fred Smoot is due to stand trial May 2, and offensive lineman Bryant McKinnie's date is May 22.

All four have pleaded not guilty to charges of lewd and indecent behavior during a party on a charter boat on Lake Minnetonka last October that allegedly featured naked and scantily clad women. The charges include indecent conduct, disorderly conduct and lewd or lascivious conduct.

Packers' Carroll Arrested

Green Bay Packers cornerback Ahmad Carroll as arrested after allegedly arguing with a police officer in a Fayetteville bar.

Carroll, 22, was charged with third-degree assault on a police officer, disorderly conduct and refusal to submit to arrest, Washington County sheriff's Sgt. Donna Smith said. He was released from the sheriff's custody on $1,550 bond.

Each of the misdemeanors is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Carroll, who played at Arkansas, is scheduled to appear in Fayetteville District Court on March 10.
